Community Empowerment and Sustainability

As an independent and truly indigenous integrated energy business,
community empowerment and sustainability are core to our mission.

Our philosophy of shared destiny with the local communities in which we operate allows us to appreciate and understand that the community’s growth is in our best interest. Heirs Oil & Gas is committed to a sustainable community empowerment program aiming to catalyze entrepreneurship, youth development, and community building.

We believe in creating development impact in our host communities, and as
such, we plan to integrate them into all of our activities. With our deep local relationships, the objective is to uplift communities and invest in value chains in Nigeria, to ensure that value creation occurs in Nigeria, creating shared social and economic wealth.

We are proud to support the work of the Tony Elumelu Foundation. The Foundation is an African-based, African-funded philanthropic organization that creates impact by empowering Africa’s entrepreneurs and producing entrepreneurship-based research and policy advocacy.

Doing well and Doing Good

OML 17 is an underexploited proven and scalable low-cost asset, with multiple low-risk opportunities to grow production and develop high-grade reserves, located in the Niger Delta. The assets have been in production since the late 1950s and 1960s, with production peaking in the 1970s at 120,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (“boe/d”).
